Hi, I’m Tasha — the founder of The Common Cookie and now the voice behind The Common Cookie Kitchen. My journey started back in 2020, when the world slowed down during the pandemic and I rediscovered my love for baking. What began as experimenting in my home kitchen quickly grew into something bigger than I ever imagined.

By 2021, I was selling at local farmers markets and realized just how much joy a cookie could bring — especially to those looking for gluten-free treats that didn’t compromise on flavor. In 2022, I made the bold decision to take The Common Cookie fully gluten-free, dedicating myself to proving that “gluten-free” could mean indulgent, creative, and delicious.

In 2023, I moved into a commercial kitchen in Buckley, WA and began wholesale partnerships with local cafés and businesses. That year was one of the hardest — between my own scoliosis diagnosis, my husband’s health struggles, and the weight of keeping a small business afloat — but it was also the year that taught me the most about perseverance.

By 2024, The Common Cookie had grown into something larger than I could’ve ever dreamed: multiple wholesale accounts, local collaborations, and a strong community following. I also had the honor of being nominated for a Spotlight on Business Award by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber.

Now, in 2025, I’ve made the intentional choice to pivot away from the demanding world of wholesale and markets. Instead, I’m channeling my energy into The Common Cookie Kitchen, a digital space where I can teach, inspire, and share the recipes, methods, and lessons I’ve gathered over the past five years. My mission is simple: to help home bakers and small business dreamers create gluten-free bakes that are just as magical as anything found in a bakery case.

Through every season — from my very first market booth to teaching online tutorials — one thing has stayed the same: my belief that baking is about more than cookies. It’s about joy, resilience, and community. And now, I can’t wait to pass that on to you.
